It all started when the off-broadway was produced in 2008 which features Sahr Ngaujah as Fela. The 2008 off-broadway production received positive review generally from critics like New York Times as well as numerous awards.
Later on, it was premiered on Broadway as a result of the success the off-broadway attained. This time, Nguajah and Kevin Mambo played the Fela’s role since the role was highly demanded. Rumour has it that, D’banj was also screened for Fela’s role in Fela! But was screened out.
The Fela! Broadway which was directed by Bill T. Jones reveals the story of the Nigeria activist and musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Khareema Aguiar of "Check Mate" fame doesn't seem happy about the comment by Nollywood Director Mr. Ifeanyi Onyeabor.
Whether we like it or not the unfortunate relationship between Ghana and Nigeria has come to stay.
Whiles major stakeholders in the Ghanaian and Nigerian Movie Industries try so hard to let the relationship between the two countries grow and flourish, other quarters are making sure the above does not materialize for their own selfish gains.

Yvonne Nelson has always refused to name her boyfriend, “It’s not John Dumelo, it is not Majid Michel (married) and never Jon Gemain”, she has told media people.
Although she tells pressmen she has a boyfriend, you would never see her with one at any public functions. But is one’s private life HC’s business? I’m sure you just asked. The answer: Never, It has never been. After all, she has always denied all relationship rumours including affairs with Nigerian director Frank Rajah Arase and executive producer, Abdul Salam-Mumuni (Venus Productions).
And she swore that issue was not the reason behind the reported brief fracas between Sallam and his trusted movie director, Frank Raja. Today, Hi Confidential can authoritatively reveal that Yvonne is dating Nollywood screen lover/bad boy, Jim Iyke. The first time the two met uneventfully was in a 2009 movie. Former Maintain star Tolu Ogunniyi has lost his wife.
Very reliable sources told us the singer’s wife Funmilayo Aderonke Ogunniyi with whom he tied the knots in January 2008, passed on early this morning at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. ‘She had been sick earlier but got Okay.
She just complained yesterday that she wasn’t feeling her body, and they took her to UCH where they said she had Jaundice’, a source close to the family tells us.
Sadly, the 25 year-old mother-of-one died today, leaving her husband in serious agony, and her two year-old son Bukunmi stranded. ”It’s sad, very sad”, a family friend who lives in the Ogunniyi’s Felele-Ibadan neighbourhood told us over the phone.
The deceased studied Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, but ran a Salon in Ibadan, and traded in gold, before passing on.
Funmi’s widower Tolu is a recording artiste who enjoyed prominence in the nineties as a member of popular pop group Maintain. He recently kicked off his solo career with the release of two fresh singles. Sources say Tolu himself is a sickler. ”I wonder who’ll take care of her baby now”, a family friend told us. ”This is sad, very very sad”.
