Just as Nigerian Nollywood English spoken movies, so is Bini language movies produced, sold, watched and loved by bini’s all over the world but less is known about these movies, casts, producers and directors.
May I use this post to further bring Bini movies to the limelight which it deserves to further serve as a review point for those directly involved in movie production in Benin City, Edo State.
Though bini movies turns out to be in vogue within the edo’s in Benin City, little was known of it’s existence on the internet until I posted some to youtube in 2006, since then, it has become a little more popular among the diasporian Bini’s.
You will notice that one can barely find any Bini actors or actresses profiles online, hence my introduction of profile pages in 2010 in Nigerianfolks Gallery called In The Movies In Edo State and today, you can find a few of them with facebook pages i.e. Henry Legemah, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, Osamwonyi Peace, Osasuyi West, Loveth Okh Azugbene etc; we are getting there at our own pace.
Bini movies still needs to be talked about by those of us who watch them, so the actors and film makers of these movies can directly or indirectly get feedbacks of how they are being constructively criticized or appreciated, in whatever category they happen to fall into.
